“AI can now do what we are doing” — Kcee warns artists against staying hidden

Nigerian music star Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has warned artists against staying hidden, saying artificial intelligence has changed the entertainment industry and made constant visibility more important.

Speaking during an interview with Selah Meditate, Kcee said the strategy of maintaining a mysterious image no longer carries the same impact it once did and could become completely irrelevant within the next five years.

“The mysterious factor won’t be relevant in five years. I spoke with some professors in America, and they confirmed it. AI can now do what we are doing,” he stated.

The singer explained that being absent from the public eye used to create value, particularly around 2021 and 2022, but said the industry has since evolved.

“Absence used to create value in 2021–2022, but things have changed. Artists need to be in people’s faces,” Kcee added.

He stressed that musicians now need to be more extroverted and maintain a strong connection with their audience if they want to remain relevant in an industry increasingly influenced by technology and AI.
